Author’s Note: This all started with the line "Did Madeline suggest you to stay away from me?" from the late season 3 episode "Third Party Ripoff". Blame this entire story on that line and Roy Dupuis' delivery of it. It just screamed tortured bad boy finding out that his girlfriend has been forbidden to see him.

This story was completed for Round 12 of the smallfandombang. One of the major perks of participating in the bang is getting paired up with an artist to create art based on my story. I'm incredibly grateful for silvercat17's generosity and talent in creating this beautiful piece of art to accompany the story.

Summary: Paris is burning. Civil unrest is running rampant and bombs are exploding across the city. And yet, in the midst of this, people continue to live their lives. For Nikita Jones, balancing university applications, graduation and parental expectations should be the most pressing issues in her life. That is until a chance encounter with a passionate and enigmatic older man could have unintended consequences on the trajectory of her future. Now she stands at the crossroads of either following her own heart or standing by her ethical convictions.
